"The Brune" opens for public viewing

Despite its seemingly museum-like nature, the Brune Reutlinger is a vibrant private home.

Built in 1886 and purchased in 1965 by its former steward, Mr. Richard Reutlinger, the house amassed a vast and eccentric collection. We invite you to take a peek inside the residence once penned, "The most important Victorian home in America."

Beyond the ornately painted gates...

An enchanting wonderland of artifacts and oddities awaits your arrival.

San Francisco's historic Alamo Square hosts the celebrated Painted Ladies of Postcard Row. This iconic neighborhood, perched atop the City by the Bay, displays blocks of stately Victorian homes, yet none rival the residence at 824 Grove Street.
